2 notes September 2, 2011 really? me:I'm from San Jose, California, about 45 minutes south of San Francisco person from Vegas:oh really? that's cool I go to San Diego a lot me:oh ok I've actually never been, but I heard it's nice person:how could you not have been there?! Isn't it right next to you? do people seriously not know geography anymore? Meeting people that are from here is so strange--hearing their perspective on California. They know San Diego, LA, and San Francisco. And that's about it. Everything in between or beyond that is nonexistent to them. They know that San Francisco is north of LA, but they think it's only a little bit north, like an I-can-drive-there-and-back-in-2-hours kind of distance. But I guess the same goes for what everyone thinks of Vegas itself right? Who knew there was so much outside of the strip? Of course that's not what attracts tourists here but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I just learned that because I've never been outside of the strip myself prior to going to school here, but now that I'm here I avoid going to the strip. Anyway I can't think of a clever conclusion and I'm hungry so this is the end.
